The 2010 Membership Campaign Begins

marshallDear Friend,

This year at Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park promises to be one filled with challenges and opportunities to enrich lives through the sharing of our history—one of the most important historic sites in the state of California.

We look forward to traditional events—like Christmas in Coloma, Gold Discovery Day, and Coloma Gold Rush Live!—and new projects—such as the restoration of the Thomas Hansford Williams House. The latest Museum exhibit is now beautifully open to the public from:
  • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday (Labor Day through Memorial Day) &
  • 10 a.m  to 4 p.m. Thursday - Monday (Memorial Day through Labor Day)
New funding sources and community collaborations will allow us to bring additional improvements and enhanced educational programming to the Park.

The Gold Discovery Park Association is proud to serve as the cooperating association of Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. In this role, we support a variety of programs for children and adults—as well as projects that help preserve historic buildings and maintain park facilities—allowing the Park to meet the Dept. of Parks & Recreation mission to provide visitors with top-quality educational experiences.

Your support—through your membership donation to the Gold Discovery Park Association—is vital in keeping the Park the treasure that it is.

Membership in the Gold Discovery Park Association helps to protect this vital piece of California history.

Other membership benefits include:
  • free parking at the Park (except on special event days)
  • free admission to the Gold Discovery Museum and other exhibits and demonstrations
  • free access to hiking trails and picnic facilities
  • a generous 20% discount at the Park's Gold Rush Mercantile
  • free subscription to the Golden Flakes newsletter
  • free "cling-on" membership sticker for your vehicle
Since 1982, the Gold Discovery Park Association has enhanced the life of Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park by raising funds that are used exclusively for the benefit of this important Park. We are a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation that generates income through the Gold Rush Mercantile at the Park's Visitors' Center, fundraising and special events, grants and donations.

We hope you'll choose to be part of the challenging and exciting year ahead - and join us today!
